Metromx Changes

Sent: Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Sales / AdOps teams,

I wanted to notify you of an upcoming change on the Metromix sites. In order to streamline our content and editorial efforts, we are planning to merge the TV channel and the Movies channel on our affiliated sites into one “Movies & TV” channel. This merger is tentatively slated for February 12, 2010. Essentially, all the existing TV channel content will be reassigned to the Movies Channel, and the Movies Channel will be appropriately renamed "Movies & TV".

Here’s how this will impact you:

· Any existing campaigns targeted to the TV channel that are expected to run past February 12th will be audited and retargeted to the “Movies & TV” channel. You can expect to receive confirmation from your Metromix AdOps contact if this affects you. If you have fixed positions expected to run on both TV & Movies channels on the same day, our AdOps team will work with you to determine alternate dates/solutions to accommodate the advertiser(s).

· Any new campaigns requesting targeting to the TV channel and expected to extend or start past February will need to be targeted to the “Movies & TV” channel as of February 12th. If you need an updated I.O., please contact the AdOps team.

· You also may want to update any communication materials you are using locally to reflect the combined “Movies & TV” channel. Once the merger happens, you should be able to update screen shots of site pages by going to your live site directly. If you need some sort of mock up sooner, please contact me individually.

· This merger will not affect your share of inventory as these two channels shared the same exactly inventory splits.

Please communicate this information to all individuals you deem appropriate that may not have been included in this communication. Should you have any questions or concerns related to this channel merger, please let me know.

Thanks,

April

Socks with toe-slots have been on the market for some years now, but you will not find someone venture outside with them. In any case you can imagine that the wool will not last if they walk on it outside, so many were amazed when they saw the Five Fingered Bikila LS in action outside.

MORE JOB CUTS: Four McClatchy newspapers announce elimination of 102 total positions

Heartland bankruptcyThree McClatchy Newspapers announced layoffs Monday. The (Raleigh, N.C.) News & Observer (memo) said it will eliminate 20 positions, The Sacramento Bee plans to cut 25 and The (Columbia, S.C.) State said it will cut 12. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram then announced Wednesday it would lay off 28 and cut 17 open positions.

According to The Charlotte Observer, McClatchy is struggling to repay nearly $2 billion in debt incurred when it bought the Knight Ridder chain in 2006. BizJournals reported that McClatchy, which owns 30 daily newspapers and about 50 non-dailies, has cut 4,150 jobs since June 2008.
